One of the most anticipated releases from Beneteau this year is the latest Farr designed, Beneteau First 40. This model is the successor to the very competitive First 40.7 and comes with optional Carbon rigging, new fabric and timber finishes. Also displaying simular design features as the First 50 and 45 with a large open decking and interior, low sleek cabin top and deep torpedo blubbed thin fin keel, the first 40 is the perfect yacht to both compete and cruise.

First, Cruising in the Lead
Created by Bénéteau thirty years ago, the First range still shows incredible vitality. Through the generations it has continued to surprise in its capacity to innovate and now offers a completely renewed vision of cruising. The year 2008 creates a perfect blend of safety, elegance, comfort and performance.

Designed to cruise, the First makes no concessions to safety on board. The choice of materials and manufacturing processes using the latest technology make it possible to combine durability, lightness and ergonomics. The stern transom, cockpit, deck and the fitting layout are especially studied to make sailing safer and moving about easier and more comfortable for the crew. In the choice of equipment favour there is a preference for boat manoeuvrability and ease of handling.

Designed to appeal, the Firsts are boats for those who appreciate beauty and which are noticed at sea or on the pontoon. The talent of their designers is demonstrated by the tight clean lines of these fast cruisers with a very strong temperament.
